What are roadway and road safety markings?
A roadway marking is a mini road system laid in thermoplastic onto the playground, with lanes, junctions, crossings, roundabouts and parking bays for children to ride and walk. It teaches road safety through play: pupils drive trikes and bikes, cross at the zebra and learn to give way, which builds the habits that matter well before they meet real traffic. Roadways suit EYFS and Key Stage 1 especially, and they turn a stretch of yard into a set for pedestrian training, cycling practice and imaginative play all at once.

Survey
We measure the run of yard you can give to a road layout and steer it clear of ball games and busy through-routes, so riding and walking stay safe.

Design
We draw the road system, lanes, crossings, roundabout and bays, to scale with its colours, so you can see the layout before we lay it.

Install
The system is masked and applied in thermoplastic on site. A full mini road usually takes a day or a little more depending on size.

Aftercare
Ready to ride once cool. We can add crossings, signs, bays or a whole extra section on a later visit as the space allows.
What do roadway and road safety markings cost?
A mini road system usually falls somewhere around £1,000 to £3,500 fitted, depending on how much of the yard it covers and how many features, crossings, a roundabout, parking bays, you include. A short loop with a crossing costs less than a full town layout. Price depends on the design, the area and access, so we survey first and give a fixed quote.
